DAY 1 SATURDAY
Catania
Arrival at Catania. Transfer to hotel in Catania. Welcome
cocktail, dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 SUNDAY
Siracusa, Ragusa
Depart for Siracusa, visit the archaeological area. Continue
to Ortigia, historical centre of the city. Lunch at leisure.
Visit the Cathedral and Arethuse fountain. Depart for Ragusa.
Visit the historical centre of Ibla. Dinner in a famous
restaurant with typically Sicilian menu. Overnight in Ragusa.
DAY 3 MONDAY
Piazza Armerina, Agrigento
Depart for Caltagirone, renowned for its production of
Sicilian ceramics. Continue to Piazza Armerina and visit the
famous mosaics at Villa Romana del Casale. Lunch in a
typically Sicilian restaurant serving local specialities.
Depart for Agrigento and visit the Valley of the Temples.
Dinner and night-time visit of the Valley of the Temples.
DAY 4 TUESDAY
Monreale, Palermo
Depart for Monreale. Visit the Cathedral and Benedictine
Cloisters, built in the 12th century
and covered with magnificent mosaics. Lunch at leisure in
Monreale. Continue on to Palermo to visit the historical
centre including the Cathedral, Palatine Chapel and Royal
Palace. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 5 WEDNESDAY
Segesta, Erice, Trapani, Palermo
Depart for Segesta to visit the famous Doric Temple and
Greco-Roman Theatre. Continue to the mediaeval hill-top
village of Erice. Lunch at leisure. On to Trapani viewing the
salt windmills then back to Palermo. Dinner at a local
resturant. Overnight in Palermo
DAY 6 THURSDAY
Cefalù, Parco dei Nebrodi, Giardini Naxos
Depart for Cefalù to visit the Arab Norman cathedral and
stroll through the narrow ancient streets. Continue to the
park of Nebrodi with
a stop at the Miraglia forest for lunch with a typical menu.
Continue to Cesaro Randazzo and visit the Etna park from the
North. On to Giardini Naxos for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7 FRIDAY
Taormina
Full day at leisure to visit either Taormina or take a
possible optional excursion to Mount Etna. Dinner and
overnight in Giardini Naxos.
DAY 8 SATURDAY
After breakfast end of tour.
