DAY 1 SATURDAY
Palermo
Arrival at Palermo. Transfer to Jolly Hotel for welcome
cocktail, dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 SUNDAY
Palermo, Monreale
Depart for Monreale to visit the famous Duomo and Benedictine
cloister. Visit the city of Palermo including the Cathedral,
Palatine Chapel in the Royal Palace and a panoramic tour of
the historical centre. Lunch at Jolly Hotel. In the afternoon
leisure time or participate in a possible optional excursion
to the Catacoombs, the Capo market and Mondello. Dinner and
overnight at Jolly Hotel.
DAY 3 MONDAY
Segesta, Erice, Trapani, Agrigento
Depart for Segesta to visit the Doric Temple surrounded by
breathtaking countryside. On the visit the ancient town of
Erice with lunch in a local restaurant. On to Trapani for a
tour of the salt mills. Continue to Agrigento for dinner and
overnight at Jolly hotel. After dinner a panoramic tour of the
floodlit Valley of the Temples.
DAY 4 TUESDAY
Agrigento, Piazza Armerina, Siracusa
Morning visit of the Valley of the Temples. Continue to Piazza
Armerina. Lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch visit Villa
Romana del Casale for its well-preserved mosaics. Continue to
Siracusa. Dinner and overnight at Jolly Hotel.
DAY 5 WEDNESDAY
Siracuas, Ragusa, Catania
Visit of the archaeological area including the famous Latomie
of the Paradise and the legendary Ear of Dionysus as well as a
visit of the island of Ortigia. Lunch at Jolly Hotel in
Siracusa. After lunch depart for Ragusa to visit the capital
of Sicily’s baroque style and the medieval Ragusa Ibla.
Continue to Catania for dinner and overnight at Jolly Hotel.
DAY 6 THURSDAY
Catania, Mount Etna, Taormina, Messina
Tour of Catania, then weather conditions permitting excursion
to Mount Etna ascending to 1800 metres. On to Taormina and
lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon visit of the Greek
Theatre and time at leisure for shopping and exploring this
picturesque resort. On to Messina for dinner and overnight at
Jolly Hotel.
DAY 7 FRIDAY
Reggio Calabria, Capo d’ Orlando, Cefalu, Palermo
Sea conditions permitting embark to Reggio Calabria and visit
the famous Bronzi di Riace. Return and drive along the coast
to Capo d’Orlando for lunch. Continue to Cefalu and visit the
town’s famous 12th century Norman Cathedral and medieval
wash-house. Continue to Palermo for farewell dinner and
overnight at Jolly Hotel.
DAY 8 SATURDAY
